1975 Ford Courier Wiring Diagram

This 1974 Ford Courier was purchased by the seller in 2016 and has reportedly spent its lifetime in Albany, Oregon. Power comes from a stock 1,800cc inline-four backed by a 4-speed manual transmission, and work commissioned by the seller included a top-end rebuild and reseal of the engine, a new clutch, a rebuild of the carburetor, brake service, and new fluids. The original Ford Ownercard, warranty card, jack, and tool kit come with the truck, which is now being offered at no reserve with a clean Oregon title in the seller's name.

The Ford Courier model was based on the Mazda B-Series compact pickup and was imported and sold by Ford Motor Company. The seller reports that the bed and tailgate were repainted by a previous owner, and the the right rocker panel was repainted during his ownership. There is visible primer showing in the rain gutters and the paint shows small spider-web cracking throughout. Some minor dents and blemishes are present on all of body panels.

Factory steel wheels were powder coated silver by the seller and wear the original chrome hubcaps. The caps show some discoloration and staining, and the seller notes there is no spare.

Black vinyl upholstery on the bench seat shows some tearing around the driver-side hinge area and a tear on the passenger-side back rest. The dash cover has a few cracks, and the original Philco Am radio remains in place. All of the electronics are working, including the turn signal switch that was sourced from a separate Courier parts truck. New door seals were recently added and are slightly larger than stock. The odometer indicates 58,550 miles, with approximately 2,500 miles being added by the seller.

The 1,800cc SOHC inline-four is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. In 2017, the engine received a top-end rebuild that included a new timing chain, chain tensioner, chain guides, valves, valve guides, seals, and gaskets. The cylinder head was resurfaced, the carburetor was rebuilt, and all of the fluids were changed. The cooling system was serviced with the radiator being removed and flushed, and the water pump, thermostat, hoses, and belt were replaced. A new clutch was installed along with a machined flywheel and new master and slave cylinders. There is a slight grind noted when downshifting to second gear, possibly due to a worn synchro.

Recommissioning also included new brake hydraulics and shoes throughout. The original air pump and smog equipment are present, though the belt has been removed due to a noisy pump and the exhaust manifold ports have been welded shut to prevent leakage.

The above video shows a cold start and the truck driving. The original key, Ford Ownercard, warranty card, jack, and tool kit are included, along with some spare parts, a factory repair manual, and an electrical diagram. No service records from current ownership are available, as the seller is a professional mechanic and completed the needed repairs and service over the past year himself.
